If you are ready to to a plunge down a water slide this summer, maybe you'd like to go where Maine families have been having been cooling off for decades.

Aquaboggan Water Park on Route One in Saco announced today on their Facebook page that they "will be opening for the 2020 season on Wednesday July 1 barring any unforeseen circumstances!"

You can read the whole post here detailing safety precautions that they are taking and how ticketing will be handled.

This news comes the day after the announcement from nearby amusement park,  Funtown Splashtown USA making the difficult decision to remain closed for 2020.

This is a challenging summer for all businesses in Maine. That's why if my family and I decide we are comfortable venturing out on the weekend, the time is now to do our best to patronize our local companies.

We wish our friends at Aquaboggan the best of luck and urge all the folks who visit them to bring along an attitude of kindness and respect. I gotta believe the wide open outdoor space they have there will be a great strength to help keep everyone socially distant.

If it's been a while since you last spent a hot summer day there, here's a great quick video of the attractions at Aquaboggan.
