As some places begin the the process of reopening, one of Maine's biggest yearly events will not go on this fall.

We're going to have to wait until 2021 to go to the Fryeburg Fair. The "Blue Ribbon Classic" is a beloved annual celebration of the best that our state has to offer.

Unfortunately as of today, it won't be happening as scheduled on the days of October 4 through October 11, 2020.

An announcement was posted on the official Fryeburg Fair Facebook page this morning.

The message from the Fryeburg Fair Board of Trustees states that,

"As we follow the State of Maine and CDC guidelines we determined that social distancing and PPE considerations would be near impossible to ensure."

Therefore their new vision will be to work hard to make things safe and successful for next year.

"Our plan is to continue our capital improvements planned for 2020 and look forward to Fryeburg Fair 2021 which will be October 3-10."
