It took 10 innings, nearly four hours, seven pitchers, 17 hits and nine runs...but the Red Sox finally beat the Toronto Blue Jays 9-8 Friday night in wild, walk-off fashion.
It was a nice night (Sept. 5) at Fenway Park all around. The evening wrapped up with an extra inning win for the Boston Red Sox, but the highlight wasn't the walk-off victory, it was a simple kind gesture from one young boy to a young girl in the stands...
Let the playoffs begin for the Portland Sea Dogs...and how about some help from newly acquired outfielder Rusney Castillo. Sox management will have him join the Dogs when their playoff series starts Wednesday.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for the Red Sox...along comes Friday night. A 3-0 lead Sox lead turned into a 5-3 loss when Koji Uehara gave up five runs in the ninth inning.
Ben Cherington made six deals on deadline day. He traded most of starting rotation that won the World Series just months ago. He got quality players in return and some prospects.
Even as die-hard Red Sox fans we know it's just about time to throw the hands up on 2014. Everything that went right with the World Series Championship season last year has gone wrong this season. One of the biggest mistakes was signing catcher A.J. Pierzynski. He just didn't work out...and now he's gone.
It was tough long day at Fenway yesterday (May 1) as the Red Sox were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays. However, for one fan, it turned out okay. He is now getting his 15 minutes of fame after making a pretty spectacular catch.
Sunday night (April 20) at Fenway Park, The Boston Red Sox game started with an emotional tribute to last year's Boston Marathon bombing victims. The night ended with an emotional walk-off win by the Sox over the Orioles, 6-5.

They have an off day after the season opener yesterday and they are in the area playing Baltimore, so why not squeeze in a visit with President Obama. Here are some tweeted pictures from the team and players.
Are you ready for opening day? The Boston Red Sox have set their 25 man roster as they get set to defend their World Series Championship kicking off the season in Baltimore (March 31) Monday afternoon.
This is the official 25 man roster, but things might change before the first pitch because outfielder Shane Victorino has been sent to Boston to have his injured hamstring evaluated...
Shane Victorino had two hits and four runs batted in, and the Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-1, in Boston on Wednesday night to win their third World Series in 10 years.

In case you missed it, watch the final out (a Koji strikeout) and the celebration as the Boston Red Sox officially clinch the crown of the American League East. Playoffs, here we come...
Nice moment during the Boston Red Sox game last night (Aug. 8) in Kansas City. Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz took a fan’s baby from the stands and held it during the National Anthem.
From the vide, I think the 'Daddy' was pretty pleased with Big Papi...
I fell in love with baseball in 1967. It was the 'Impossible Dream' season of the Boston Red Sox. One of the most memorable players on that team was their slugging first baseman (sometimes third baseman) George Scott. He died today (July 29) in Mississippi. He was 71.
