A man died in a house fire early Sunday morning along Three Mile Pond in China. According to WGME he was outside the house when fire officials responded. He was identified as Randall Luck. The fire was reported by a plow truck driver. Fire officials are still working to figure out exactly what happened.

A traffic study offers option for $4.4 million in improvements for Waterville. According to the idea include making Main and Front streets two-way instead of one-way. But as with any big change come costs and at this point the plan had a $4.4M cost.

Republican Gov. Paul LePage has proposed a two-year, $6.8 billion budget that would reduce Maine's income and corporate taxes while cutting about 500 state jobs and changing school funding. LePage released his budget plan late Friday. His recommendations include lowering the top individual income tax rate from 10.15 percent to a 5.75 percent flat tax and reducing the top corporate income tax rate from 8.93 percent to 8.33 percent.

A 52-year-old Massachusetts man has died after a snowmobile he was operating fell through thin ice on a lake.The state Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife says Richard Dumont of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, was riding a snowmobile owned by a friend and business partner on Messalonskee Lake in Oakland when it broke through the ice Saturday.The Maine Warden Service says this is the second snowmobile-related fatality this season and they urge people to use extreme caution on any body of water.

Gov. Paul LePage says he's going to be attending the inauguration of Republican President-elect Donald Trump. LePage, who appeared with Trump several times in Maine, says he's definitely going to attend the inauguration but may not attend any of the gala balls. The inauguration is set for Jan. 20.

Mainers who want to hike, swim or sunbathe in a state park are going to have to pay more for a season pass. Entrance fees and camp reservation fees went up in 2016, and the price of a season pass is going up in 2017.

The holiday season is over but demand for L.L. Bean's famous boot marches on. The company currently has a backlog of 51,000 orders that it intends to fill in the coming weeks. A company spokeswoman says harsh winter weather and the boot's ongoing popularity are driving demand.

Bitter cold temperatures are heading into northern New England. The National Weather Service says the wind chill could hit minus 30 degrees in northern New Hampshire and Maine. Experts warn exposure to such frigid temperatures could result in frostbite or hypothermia.

President-elect Donald Trump is blasting the media, saying that they're reporting that taxpayers would get stuck with the bill for a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. In a tweet Sunday night, Trump says, "Dishonest media says Mexico won't be paying for the wall if they pay a little later so the wall can be built more quickly. Media is fake!" Trump's team and congressional Republicans are working on a plan in which taxpayers initially would foot the bill. Trump says that Mexico would then reimburse the U.S.

The 26-year-old man charged with opening fire on travelers inside the Fort Lauderdale airport's baggage claim area is expected to appear in court Monday. Esteban Santiago is accused of killing five people and wounding six others in Friday's attack. TMZ has posted video on its website showing the gunman pulling out a handgun from his waistband and firing several times as people around him dive to the ground.

President-elect Donald Trump got plenty of mentions at the Golden Globe awards last night. Host Jimmy Fallon noted that the Globes is "one of the few places left where America still honors the popular vote." Hugh Laurie, accepting his award for best supporting actor in "The Night Manager," joked this could be last Golden Globes. He noted the awards are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. He says with words like Hollywood, foreign and press in the title, the awards might not survive the Trump era.
