Maine MIGHT move to the Atlantic time zone, but only if New Hampshire and Massachusetts do it too. WMTW reports the bill on the time zone change passed an initial House vote and moves to the Senate. (Additional info from Bangor Daily News)

The Downtown Hallowell Road Reconstruction project is on track to start next April, go  into the fall and be wrapped up in early 2019 with paving. Centralmaine.com reports the biggest concern has been the impact to business and those who live in the downtown area.

Maine is by far the largest supplier in the U.S. Harvesters called wormers dig the wriggling creatures out of coastal muck so they can be sold to fishermen worldwide.

Police have identified a man who died when his tent caught fire in a homeless encampment in South Portland, Maine. Police say they used DNA comparison with a family member to identify 48-year-old Rodney Jewell, whose remains were found earlier this month.

Lawmakers are set to consider bills to protect babies exposed to drugs and support peer recovery. More than one person a day died from drug overdoses in Maine last year.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says China has asked North Korea to conduct no further nuclear tests. Tillerson says China also told the U.S. that it had informed North Korea "that if they did conduct further nuclear tests, China would be taking sanctions actions on their own." The top U.S. diplomat made the remarks in an interview Thursday on Fox News Channel.

An attorney for the fourth Arkansas inmate executed in eight days says accounts of the lethal injection are "horrifying." Shawn Nolan was one of Kenneth Williams' attorneys who'd filed multiple requests to stop the execution, including one challenge that said Williams had medical issues that could make his lethal injection painful.

A top House Republican says the chamber will not vote on GOP legislation replacing President Barack Obama's health care law until at least next week. That's a setback for the White House. Officials there have been hoping for House passage of the legislation by Saturday _ President Donald Trump's 100th day in office.

Even as Republicans control the federal government and President Donald promises to roll back regulations, Texas wants more autonomy to decide its own laws. The Texas Sovereignty Act, a longshot proposal in the GOP-controlled Legislature, would allow the state to ignore federal legislation and court rulings and forgo enforcing things like national environmental standards. Lawmakers in Arizona have already approved a similar policy, and even states beyond Texas are seeking to follow suit.

A centuries-old, sacred Hindu temple in Bali is getting a new neighbor that is described as "Trump International Hotel and Tower" in promotions for what will be the Trump Organization's first resort in Asia.
