A hearing to determine if a Winthrop teenager charged with killing his parents will be tried as an adult will last at least one more day.

According to the Associated Press Andrew Balcer was in court Wednesday in Augusta, where officials are deciding on the case. He left the courtroom in the early afternoon to return to a juvenile detention facility and is expected to return Thursday. Attorneys have said they expect the hearing to last two to three days.

Balcer is charged with stabbing Alice and Antonio Balcer to death a year ago. An interview with Balcer and detectives was played in court on Wednesday. In it, Balcer says he remembers most of what he did but doesn't know why according to AP.
