According to a report by Reuters, Subaru is recalling a total of 2.3 million vehicles worldwide with 1.3 million being in the U.S. due to faulty brake lights that may not illuminate properly.

The recall will include certain 2008 to 2016 models of the Impreza, 2013 to 2017 Crosstrek, and 2014 to 2016 Forester. So far, there's about 20 reported incidents tied directly to this issue involving the brake lamp switch. Apparently it is a liquid cleaning products that contains silicone that causes leaking into the switch.

Subaru says they will reach out to affected customers and replace the switch.
