State Police say the body of a missing Lewiston man was found yesterday.

According to Maine Depatment of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, the body of Stephen Brown, 53, was located in a wooded area off Winter St, near his home.  The death is not suspicious, McCausland said.

Brown was last seen on Aug. 26, leaving his Winter St. home. A State Police dog helped locate the body Tuesday afternoon.  Lewiston and State Police had been looking for Brown since he was reported missing, McCausland said.

State and Lewiston Police are asking the public’s help in locating a Lewiston man who has been missing for over a week. The man is 53 year old Stephen Brown and he was last seen on August 26.  Brown lives at 96 Winter St in Lewiston.  He is approximately 5’9” tall, weighs 180 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Lewiston Police at 784-6421.
