I think we can all agree that, in the years leading up to the pandemic, we really saw a revival of downtown Augusta.  New bars, restaurants, shops, and some beautiful new apartments.  While the pandemic did cause some to take a step (or several steps) back, progress in downtown Augusta did not stop.

Over the last few months, we've all celebrated wins for local businesses.  Whether it was the expansion of an existing business or the opening of a new business.

If you've been looking for another reason to celebrate, here ya' go: Augusta is getting a new coffee shop!

According to a post on Facebook, Ryan & Amanda Hill are putting a coffee shop into the old Huiskamer Coffee House location on Water Street in Augusta.

You may recognize the Hills as being the family who run Augusta's Wrapped Up wrap restaurant.

The post says, in part:

We have worked with both Grace and Justin Fecteau over the last few months to have our current business Wrapped Up take over their beautiful Huiskamer Coffee House. We’ve had an amazing experience moving this forward and have been blessed to work with such an amazing couple. There will be more details as the days move forward! Thank you everyone! We hope to be slinging java soon!

No word on exactly what they'll be offering, but we assume it will be similar to the offerings of Huiskamer - hot and iced coffee, lattes, etc.  It does appear that they are going to have their own special blend of coffee.

When they do open, you'll be able to find them on 216 Water Street in Augusta

We wish them all the best and welcome them to downtown Augusta!
