More Than $20K of Drugs Seized in Moosehead Lake Region Bust
As the drug epidemic continues to rage on across the country and here in Maine, officials are seeing an increase in the number of drug busts across the state. Though busts are much more common in heavily populated areas of the state, they're not exempt from happening in the more rural areas either.
According to the Greenville Maine Police Department on Facebook, one such bust was made Monday, February 1st, 2022. Greenville Police took multiple suspects into custody following the conclusion of an area drug investigation.
Authorities had been looking into potential drug activity in the vicinity of Thearn Road in Greenville. Yesterday evening, after dark, officers proceeded to conduct a traffic stop on that same road. There were three subjects in the vehicle at the time, all of which were charged.
A 29-year-old male suspect was taken into custody and charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking as well as a Class C drug furnishing charge.
A 21-year-old male suspect was taken into custody and charged with Class A Aggravated trafficking, violation of bail conditions and Class D possession of scheduled drugs.
Additionally, a 31-year-old female was allegedly operating the vehicle with a revoked license and is a habitual offender. She was issued a summons. The two male suspects were taken to the Piscataquis County Jail.
Police seized $1,500 worth of crack cocaine and $18,000 worth of deadly fentanyl in the bust.
Currently, the identity of the subjects remains unknown. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
