KKK Flyers Found In Augusta Neighborhood

According to published reports, flyers for the Ku Klux Klan have been found in an Augusta neighborhood.

In a story posted on centeralmaine.com, the Augusta police confirmed that residents of streets in the Townsend Road, Washington Street and Northern Avenue area reported finding the flyers.

The story said the flyers had a picture of a hooded Klan member with the words "Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Clan",  listed an 800 number and contained the following text:

“Neighborhood Watch. You can sleep tonight knowing the Klan is awake! Are there troubles in your neighborhood? Contact the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Today!”

The centralmaine.com story said while the Augusta police are looking into the flyers, it appears there was no crime committed, other than possibly littering.
