Moe’s Italian Sandwiches’ 16th Shop Finally Opens in Former New Hampshire Bank

You might have heard that Newington, New Hampshire, was getting a brand new Moe's Italian Sandwiches.

Well, the exciting update is that it's finally open.

The popular New England sandwich shop shared on Instagram that its first day is Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Where Is the Newington, New Hampshire, Moe's Italian Sandwiches?

Moe's Italian Sandwiches has taken over a former TD Bank at 2033 Woodbury Avenue in Newington.

That's replacing the recently closed (and just down the road) Moe's in the Mobil gas station at 1980 Woodbury Avenue in Portsmouth.

It also marks the 16th location for the chain, with other spots across Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Those places include Sanford and Berwick, Maine; Newburyport, Massachusetts; and Concord, Dover, Durham, Exeter, Lee, Manchester, Plaistow, Raymond, Rochester, Seabrook, and Portsmouth, which has two spots.

What to Expect at the Moe's Italian Sandwiches in Newington, New Hampshire?

Owner Cheryl Pagano, the granddaughter of Phil "Moe" Pagano, who opened the first Moe's in downtown Portsmouth in 1959, said on a call in April that the new spot is "exponentially bigger than the little [Moe's] spot in the gas station on Woodbury."

Basically, you're getting more space and more seating, but the same classic Moe's.

Pagano also teased that the drive-thru might become an option for food pickup in the future, but for now, the focus is on the launch of this new location.
