This New England Snow Tubing Park Ranked Top 10 in America by USA Today

Winter is here, and so are winter sports: skiing, snowshoeing, tubing!

Well, tubing is hardly a winter "sport" and more of a leisurely activity, but we count it.

While winter sports like snowshoeing require Mother Nature to be on your side, others, like tubing, just need colder temperatures. And regardless of how much snow is on your front lawn, snow tubing across New England has begun now that the colder temps are here.

Well, if you have never tubed (or even if you have), you have to try tubing at one of USA Today's Top 10 Snow Tubing Destinations in America.

Don't worry, you don't even need to go far. A few of them are in New England.

According to a Boston Uncovered article,

A panel of adventure experts partnered with USA Today 10Best editors to pick the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote of readers nationwide. Butternut Ski Area and Tubing Center in Great Barrington, just over two hours driving from Boston, landed a sweet spot at number eight on the list!

Butternut Ski Area in Barrington, MA comes in at the #8 spot.

USA Today writes:

Ten snow tubing lanes and a Magic Carpet lift make the Butternut Ski Area and Tubing Center a fantastic option for snow tubing. Tubing tickets can be purchased for 2-hour sessions, and tubers aged 5 and up are welcome.

Ski Butternut is a smaller mountain compared to others in New England. But they are proving that small things are also mighty:

Butternut Ski Area and Tubing Center compares to a ski resort with 22 trails, 2 terrain parks, 10 “magic carpet” ski lifts, rentals, lessons, and of course 10 snow tubing lanes featuring magical snow dusted mountain views of Massachusetts. Tubing tickets are required and are $25 on Friday nights and $35 during weekends and holidays.

Two New Hampshire mountains made the list too: Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway, New Hampshire, and King Pine Ski Area in Madison, New Hampshire.
