Longtime Portland, Maine, Spa Closing Permanently
There has been a lot of change in Portland, Maine, just over the past couple years. Most of the attention has fallen on the restaurant scene in the city, where some very notable eateries have closed their doors permanently.
But for a long time, part of the charm of Portland, Maine, has been some of the other things it offers outside of its world-class dining scene. Whether that be museums, live music, experiences or places to find full relaxation.
One of those relaxing locations is about to say goodbye forever.
Soakology in Portland, Maine, Announces It Plans To Close Permanently
Shared on social media, Soakology announced that they had reached a decision to close the popular spa and tea room permanently. Soakology had been welcoming guests at their Portland spa for two decades, offering relaxation with foot soaks, massages and a selection of snacks as well as tea.
It'll be another loss for Portland, which has seen several longtime businesses leave the city recently. Some because of economic factors, others have simply aged into retirement.
The Soakology Brand Will Continue On With Online Products
While the physical location of Soakology at 511 Congress Street will close permanently on May 11, it won't be the end of the brand.
Soakology will be under new ownership and plans to continue the brand with future online store offerings. What exactly those will be wasn't stated in the social media message but will likely be revealed after the physical location closes permanently.
