After more than a decade under the ownership of Churchill Downs Inc., the Oxford Casino in Maine may be in line for some changes.

That's because Oxford Casino is part of 9 properties owned by Churchill Downs Inc. that have essentially been deemed available by the company. For the right price, of course.

More than 13 years later, Churchill Downs Inc. still views Oxford Casino as viable but the company is leaning more into its horse racing properties versus pure gambling.

The decision to sell Oxford Casino isn't set in stone. Churchill Downs Inc. reported a record $980 million in net revenue for quarter two of 2026. It would need to be the right buyer at the right price for Oxford Casino to sell.

8 Other Churchill Downs Properties Could Be Sold Off As Well

As Churchill Downs Inc. attempts to narrow their focus on horse racing properties, the company is open to selling 8 other casinos alongside Oxford Casino in Maine.

They include:

  • del Lago Casino in New York
  • Ocean Downs in Maryland
  • Terra Haute Casino in Indiana
  • Calder Casino in Florida
  • Presque Isle Casino in Pennsylvania
  • Hard Rock Casino in Iowa
  • Harlow's Casino in Mississippi
  • Riverwalk Casino in Mississippi

It's possible Oxford Casino could be bundled with one of several of these other available properties in a larger acquisition.

Oxford Casino will continue to operate normally while the property is being discussed with potential buyers.
