For more than two decades now, the International Cryptozoology Museum has been a hit with visitors looking for something a little off the beaten path.

Launched in 2003 out of founder Loren Coleman's home, the intrigue of the museum has captivated those willing to take the leap of faith in believing that some mystical beasts actually do exist among us.

The popularity of the museum led to several expansions over the years including the International Cryptozoology Museum moving to its current location at Thompson's Point in Portland, Maine, back in 2016.

But that Portland chapter is about to end as another major move is on the horizon.

The International Cryptozoology Museum Will Open in Bangor, Maine, This April

According to the Portland Press Herald, the International Cryptozoology Museum is moving from Portland to Bangor a couple of different reasons.

The rising costs of operating in Portland was a major factor as was the need for additional space as the museum continues to grow.

The International Cryptozoology Museum will be located at 490 Broadway in Bangor with a grand opening date set for Wednesday, April 1.
