The Largest Salt Marsh in Maine Is a Whopping 3,100 Acres
See, this is why Maine is so funny. We're home to a giant salt marsh that stretches over 3,100 acres and yet we're also home to a strip club in Portland. That being said, when "they" say we're diverse out here, please believe that.
Scarborough Marsh
Isn't that kind of cool? The largest salt marsh in Maine is actually located in an easily accessible town, Scarborough? Walking around dead center in the middle of it with ocean animals scurrying around, feels almost magical. Check it out:
I've been to this marsh dozens of times and although he gets completely destroyed by the mud, my dog and I absolutely love romping the trails through it. From time to time you'll see kayaker's wading through the water and it's awesome to see.
Where is the world's largest marsh?
Right here in Maine! According to Maine.gov, the Scarborough Marsh truly is the biggest one of its' kind in the entire world and we're just living around it. Nature is so cool man.

"Known as the largest saltwater marsh in the world, the marsh is fed by four rivers and several creeks. Three of the rivers in the Scarborough Marsh feed into and create the Scarborough River, which flows into Saco Bay and the Gulf of Maine" - Golfofmaine.org
I do worry time to time that the world we live in will eventually start deteriorating the beauty of nature, but until then you should go enjoy Maine's nature.
