Hoping to get a delicious Italian sandwich from Sam's in Topsham? You'll have to shift gears on that one.

Turns out, that Maine location has closed its doors for good.

Thankfully, there's a silver lining to the unfortunate news. There is another Sam's close by in Cooks Corner in Brunswick, and they deliver to Topsham.

Did Sam's Italian in Topsham, Maine, Close?

Unfortunately, there wasn't a social media announcement on Sam's Facebook page regarding the closure, but a quick Google search of Sam's in Topsham reveals a "Temporarily Closed" notice attached to the restaurant's info.

And when you call the Topsham location's phone number, an audio message plays saying:

"Thank you for calling Sam's Italian Foods in Topsham. We've moved our operation to Cooks Corner in Brunswick at 9 Stephen Drive, or you can order online for delivery across all of Topsham at samsitalian.com."

(A side note, the message does include an accidental mistake as the Brunswick address is actually 4 Stephen Drive.)

An employee from the Cooks Corner location did confirm that the Topsham spot has been "closed for about a month now," and you can see the spot is listed as available to lease.

How Many Sam's Italian Locations Are There in Maine?

According to its website, Sam's Italian started in a small shop in 1939 before moving to Main Street in Lewiston a year later.

The landmark spot sadly closed in 2023, but in a positive turn of events, the spot would reopen in 2024 as Sam's Bakery Shop.

The restaurant's website lists 10 locations open as of this writing, including Augusta, Brunswick, Dixfield, Freeport, Lisbon Falls, two in Auburn, and three in Lewiston.
