NFL Stars Send Messages of Support to Lewiston and Auburn, Maine Football Teams
On Wednesday night the Battle of the Bridge, the football game between the Lewiston Blue Devils and the Edward Little Red Eddies, will take place at Don Roux Field. It's the meeting of the two teams on opposite sides of the Androscoggin River and this game will have a feel like no other.
The game kicks off at 6 p.m. and Don Roux Field will no doubt be packed with fans to see the two teams play and also to be able to all come together to support each other a week after the tragedy.
They have some big words of encouragement as well, sent to the two teams and the two cities from some big-name stars in the NFL, all with a connection to the New England Patriots. Well, except for one, which we'll get into in a bit.
Several posts on the Lewiston Blue Devil's Athletics X page (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday had video messages for the teams from present and past New England Patriots and Robert Kraft as well.
First up is former Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski.
Then it was quarterback Mac Jones.
And wrapping it up for the Patriots messages was the owner himself, Robert Kraft.
Pretty amazing stuff there and a great way to get these kids pumped for tonight's game and the crowd ready to cheer them on.
But there was another video that landed on the Lewiston Blue Devil's Athletics X page earlier in the day and this person had nothing to do with football. Comedian Will Ferrell sent a video wishing the teams well in a style that only he could do.
Good luck to both teams! Win or lose, this will be a game that you will remember for the rest of your life.
