These Are the Most Popular Cocktails in Each New England State

What New Englander doesn't enjoy a delicious cocktail after work, out with friends, a night at the club, or just relaxing at home? I'm sure there are some; either those who don't drink or who prefer a beer from the many local brewpubs in New England.

There are hundreds of cocktails to choose from when you're in the mood, but I was curious about what each New England state would chose as their favorite cocktail.

Business Insider shared a list created by Groupon in which they grabbed data from Google from over the past 10 years of what cocktail people in each state (and Washington D.C.) were searching for the most.

As far as the whole country goes, mojitos were the most popular, with eight states searching for them. Tom Collins was second. Neither of those were chosen by any of the New England states.

Spoiler: There's a clear favorite among all the New England states. Let's get to it!

Rhode  Island - Vodka Martini

Vodka, dry vermouth, and ice. That's all it takes for Rhode Islanders to make a vodka martini. That and a few olives on a toothpick.

Connecticut - Vodka Martini

Oh. I guess Connecticut likes vodka martinis too. Maybe Rhode Island is just going along with Connecticut because they're small enough to be one of their counties.

Massachusettes - Sea Breeze

Welcome to the '80s, Massachusetts! Get some Vodka, cranberry juice, and grapefruit juice with a little garnish, and you're ready to lean back and listen to "Sailing" by Christopher Cross.

Vermont - Margarita

Vermont is wasting away in Margaritaville. RIP Jimmy Buffet.

New Hampshire - Gin and Tonic

New Hampshire, where they "live free or die", have liquor stores on the interstate with their own on and off-ramps, and they like gin and tonic. Meh.

Maine - Vodka Martini

Seriously Maine? We can do better than this, can't we?
