MISSING: Massachusetts Girl Believed to Possibly Be in New Hampshire or Maine
Colleen Weaver Missing
It's a sentence that I'm sure no parent ever in their life wants to speak. "My child is missing." And unfortunately, that's the exact sentence the Weaver family spoke to the Raynham Police Department in Massachusetts just a week ago.
Raynham Police Department on the case
According to the official website for the Raynham Police Department, 16-year-old Colleen Weaver was last seen over a week ago on Tuesday, October 18 around 1a. The belief is that at some point in the middle of the night, she left her house in the area of Orchard and King Streets in Raynham.
According to Mae Roche, whose aunt knows the Weaver family,
[Colleen] left her cell phone at home [and] evidence found by her parents suggests she was lured out of the house in the middle of the night through social media by someone possibly impersonating a classmate. She has a neurological condition that makes her more trusting and believing of others.
Raynham Police Department update
Yesterday (Tuesday, October 25), one week to the day that Colleen went missing, Raynham Police provided an update on their investigation, which now extends the window that Colleen was believed to have gone missing between 1a and 4a and is believed to be around 100 miles away from her home.
Given this information, the department is asking that media outlets in Springfield, Provincetown, Bristol, Conn., Hartford, Conn., Wells, Maine, Concord, N.H., Portsmouth, N.H., Manchester, N.H., Keene, N.H., and Brattleboro, Vt. please share information about the search.
When she was last seen over a week ago, Colleen's hair was dyed pink and she had a nose piercing. She may or may not be wearing black eyeglasses and although her exact clothing is unknown, it's possible that she was last wearing a sweatshirt and leggings. She's 5'0" tall and approximately 120 pounds.
Because there has been no contact from Colleen since she went missing over a week ago, she's believed to be in danger according to the latest update yesterday by Raynham Police.
