Popular Maine Italian Restaurant Great Impasta Finally Opens Its New Brunswick Location

The wait is finally over.

After what felt like a quiet few months on social media, the Great Impasta popped back up on Facebook in February to let people know they were still working on getting the place ready to open.

And then, on St. Patrick's Day, the Italian restaurant in Brunswick, Maine, revealed on Facebook that its new location was ready and waiting for customers to come to eat.

Where is the new Great Impasta location in Brunswick, Maine?

The Great Impasta has been around since 1984, according to its website, and was previously located at 42 Maine Street.

The business closed in fall 2024 in what seemed like out of the blue, but a reassuring Facebook post in October revealed that it would be moving to 11 Pleasant Street in Brunswick.

This new spot is still in downtown Brunswick, but it's just off Maine Street now, closer to the town's post office and library.

You might remember this building as the location of former restaurants Odd Duck, which opened in 2019 and closed in 2020, and MAIZ Colombian Street Food, which opened in 2022 and closed in 2024.

When is the new Great Impasta location in Brunswick, Maine, open?

The Great Impasta said on Facebook that it first had a soft opening but as of March 17, 2025, the place is open.

The hours remain the same: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It is closed on Sunday.
