Photos of the First Maine Babies Born in 2024 Are Absolutely Adorable

While you might have been popping bottles of champagne (or lounging on the couch... or even sleeping) to celebrate the new year, a number of Maine families were happily meeting their brand new babies for the first time.

News (and photos) of the New Year's bundles of joy were shared on social media marking an adorable way to kick off 2024.

What better way to ring in the new year than with some cuteness?

It looks like the first baby to arrive in the Pine Tree State in 2024 was delivered at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical up in Bangor.

According to the hospital's Facebook post, Little Keeley arrived at 12:21 a.m. at 6 pounds, 15 ounces. That's barely after the clock struck midnight!

The Portland Press Herald reported that around 1:21 a.m., Leif arrived to a Union, Maine, couple at LincolnHealth in Damariscotta. The newspaper noted that the little guy weighed 7 pounds, 9.8 ounces.

And not long after that, Seneca was born at 1:37 a.m. at Maine Medical Center in Portland, the hospital's Facebook post stated. What makes it even cooler is that Maine Medical Center revealed Seneca's dad has a New Year's birthday, too.

Double the parties, right?

But wait. That's not it for New Year's babies in Maine.

Two more were born in the early morning of Jan 1, one at 9:30 a.m. in Lewiston and one at 9:31 a.m. in Augusta.

Here's one more cute photo for good measure courtesy of Southern Maine Health Care's first baby delivered of the year. Sure, Aleigha was born January 2 at 7:55 a.m., making her "late" to the New Year's Day party, but she is just as welcome to the world. Super cute!
