The Hottest Restaurant in the Country Has Just One Maine Location

Of all the restaurants in the country, Chili’s is the one that's kicking all manner of restaurant butt. According to CNN, sales at Chili's that have been open for at least a year went up 31% last quarter. That was the third straight quarter of double-digit sales growth. That helped the parent company's stock jump 16% recently.

Why is America's hottest restaurant only in Bangor, Maine?

Great question. Maine used to have a Chili's in South Portland. Bangor Daily News reported that the South Portland location closed in May of 2024 without explanation. If they had held on for another year, Maine Chili's locations may have seen a 20% increase in foot traffic, as seen at locations throughout the country!
