Dexter Man Will Pay $1,000 To Anyone Who Brings a Doctor to Town
Dexter, Maine is a small town with 3,803 residents as of the 2020 census and is just 40 to 50 miles northwest of Bangor, depending on which of three routes you take to get there.
According to Wikipedia, Dexter is almost exactly halfway between Bangor and Waterville Bangor and is also almost exactly halfway between the North Pole and the Equator.
Like any small town, it has convenience stores, restaurants, a Hannaford Supermarket, inns, and the obligatory Family Dollar and Dollar General. What it doesn't have, according to one man from Dexter, is more healthcare options.
Dexter Needs More Healthcare Options
Dexter resident Frank Spizuoco has put out a challenge on Facebook to anyone who can find a doctor, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner who is willing to start a private practice at a 4800-square-foot medical facility that he owns, seen above.
He's willing to build to suit and will give the medical professional who is willing to open up a private practice, free rent for one year to help offset start-up costs.
Get a Bounty of $1,000
If you can find Frank a a medical professional who will open a practice in his building in Dexter, Frank will pay you a $1,000 finders fee.
Let's be honest here. Healthcare options in rural areas like Dexter are slim. Having options allows more residents to be seen and gives them a choice of where to get their health care.

Driving the 40 to 50 miles to Bangor for healthcare isn't practical for many people. Choice is good. Let's hope that someone picks up that $1,000 and Dexter gets a new choice in their healthcare without traveling far.
