Maine’s ‘Red Hot Dog Festival’ Will Feature Maine ‘Idol’ As Guest
I love that as a state, Maine celebrates a lot of interesting foods with entire festivals. There's the Lobster Festival, The Moxie Festival, The Blueberry Festival, The Whoopie Pie Festival, and even the Red Hot Dog Festival!
This year's Red Hot Dog festival, in particular, is gearing up to honor a very "Maine" dish, but it is doing so with our very own "Maine" Idol.
According to the Maine Red Hot Dog Festival Facebook event page, this year's event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 9th from 9 AM to 5 PM, right in the heart of downtown Dexter.
"Making an appearance at this year's festival, Julia Gagnon is an up-and-coming artist known for her journey on the Emmy-winning show American Idol, in its 22nd season where she placed in the top 7. She takes the stage name JULIA in preparation for her new album, WILDFLOWERS, an album dedicated to planet Earth."
Gagnon will be performing with her partner, Nate Haven, who is also from Maine.
Along with Gagnon's performance, folks attending this year's Maine Red Hot Dog Festival can look forward to a 5K "Beer Run", a red hot dog eating contest, the Dexter Fire Department's "Red Hot Duck Race", local vendors and craftsman, local musicians and of course, lots of local food.
