Popular Old Town Donut Shop Up For Sale
Aimee and Cory Thibodeau and their young family opened their specialty donut shop at 296 Main Street in Old Town in July of 2023.
With a family recipe for enormous donuts with amazing toppings, which was passed along by Cory's mom, Wanda, MeMe G's quickly became a morning destination for donut lovers across the state.

They added pizza, subs and other food to the menu, and had longer hours of operation than most bakeries. They even added a bar to the business, creating 3 businesses in one.
The family worked tireless to balance the demands of having young kids with the demands of running their own business for two straight years, with love and support from their extended family and the community.
But they came to a place where that balance seemed off, and what was important was being missed. Sadly, last Saturday, the couple closed the doors of the shop for good.
They broke the news via the MeMe G's Facebook Page this week, and while no one could blame them at all for pulling back a bit to concentrate more on their young family, it's evident that what they built made the community around them a little bit sweeter, and that will be missed.
"We were prepared for that as Cory has been a business owner for decades, however, we're at a point where we're watching the time with our children slip away and we're missing it. Not anymore. Our health and our family are more important than success and titles. We made this decision together, but not because we didn't appreciate each and every one of our loyal customers."
For fans of the shop, the announcement was bittersweet, with everyone in support of the families decision and understanding of the reason behind it, but a sadness about the hole the loss would leave in town.
"Definitely will miss MeMe Gs! Hopefully someone will purchase the business and keep it going. Definitely understand 100% though," wrote one person.

"Thank you for sharing the delicious doughnuts with all of us. Life is short and family time is extremely important," wrote another.
And on fan exclaimed excitement for being able to see the entire family (not just the parents in shifts) out at future community events. "We will miss your donuts but will look forward to seeing your entire family at everything!!!!"
The couple says the combined donut, pizza shop and bar are all 3 (turn-key)up for sale. They are will to sell the business and/or the equipment to anyone who wants to keep the place going.
