Blaze’s Highly Anticipated Urban Pizza Location Opens in Bangor, Maine
It's been seven years in the making.
Folks around Bangor have kept their eye on this spot for years, at this point. When Blaze Urban Pizza first put up a sign several years ago, folks all over town buzzed with the idea of having such a cool place open right across the street from the Maine Savings Amphitheater.
Since then, for reasons which the public may never fully be aware, the doors remained closed. Starting a business is always a challenge, no doubt. At one point, it seemed like there was some light at the end of the tunnel back in 2019, but then nothing happened. But, most folks always believed it would open. After all, it had the sign out front for years.
Just recently, there was a little bit of activity.
Folks noticed one day that the paper had been removed from the windows, which had been up for years. Another person mentioned they happened to be next door at Dunkin', and noticed there were people inside, and a sign on the door said something about hosting a private function.
But now, according to WABI, they are open for business... Seemingly out of nowhere. Actually in the restaurant business, this is fairly common. They call it a soft opening. You don't advertise it, just one day you open the doors quietly and see who notices. But it's for real. You can even scope the menu and order food right here. They're open from 11:00am - 11:00pm every day, currently.
It'll have the Blaze vibe on the menu. Items like pizza, smash burgers, gelato, and so many other delicious looking things. And of course... Hopefully they'll have the full array of Blaze beers. It's been a long time coming, and Bangor is ready for it. After all, who wouldn't want to be able to leave dinner and just walk across the street to a show?
Soon, you'll have to add eating at Blaze before a waterfront concerts to this list...
