That is, until I found Ecotat Gardens and Arboretum in Hermon. It's located on Annis Road, right off Route 2. I mean, you turn off Route 2 and it's right there.

Ecotat Gardens and Arboretum in Hermon is Just Minutes from Downtown Bangor

Despite being next to a busy intersection, the gardens have an isolated feel to them, with so many flowers and trees, you'd swear you were in a much more remote area.

There are picnic tables near the entrance and benches throughout, so plenty of places to sit and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. And there are even walking trails, if you're looking for a little exercise, without dealing with traffic.

Take a virtual walk through the gardens and then think about stopping by to enjoy this oasis of nature and beauty just minutes from downtown Bangor.
