People who love shopping for in-style products on a discount know and love TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls.

These three retails chains, all subsidiaries of TJX Companies, each feature overstock furniture, kitchenware, gadgets, clothing, fragrances, and more.

Of course, each chain is slightly different.  TJ Maxx tends to have more clothing and jewelry, while Home Goods has more furniture available.

As the products are all overstock items, the inventory is always changing.  Personally, I make it a point to check out both TJ Maxx and HomeGoods each time I get to the Marketplace at Augusta.  And, I stop by a Marshalls store whenever I see one.  You really never know what you are going to find at these stores.

TJX Companies Closures

Earlier this month, we got word that TJX Companies, which is based in Framingham, Massachusetts, would be closing several store locations.  The stores selected for closure will all be shutting their doors permanently in early 2024.

According to an article in the Boston Globe, this is not a sign the company is having financial issues.  The article explains that it is quite common for retail chains to close weaker performing stores.  Why let weaker performing stores drag the rest of the company down, right?

In fact, the company's stores saw a 6% jump in sales during the second quarter of 2023.
