Police are looking for the public's help in locating a young German woman who went missing in Maine back in 2021.

According to WMTW, Celeste Doghmi, who is now 29 years old, was last seen in the Auburn area in July 2021.

Her family, who does not live in the United States, are very concerned because it has been about two years since they have heard from her.

Celeste is described as being a black female who is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, according to WABI.

If there is a chance that you have seen her, please contact the Auburn Maine Police Department at 207-333-6533.

According to World Population Review, more than 600,000 people go missing every year. The website states that California tops that list with over 3,000 missing persons.

Back in 2022, WABI reported that there were 137 open missing persons cases in Maine and some of those date back decades.

Police will often highlight missing person cases in the state in the hopes that bringing it back up might spark potential information from anyone that could help solve the case.

One example involves the case of a child that went missing over 50 years ago, 3-year-old Douglas Chapman, according to News Center Maine. The news station reported that while efforts to find him did not prove successful, an interview with them years ago revealed that "dogs traced Douglas' scent through the woods and up to Gore Road" in Alfred, Maine.

Again, if you have any information on Celeste Doghmi or any missing persons, please let police know.
