Much Loved Maine Taco Place Announces Expansion

Since 2019, the Oak Table & Bar has provided the residents of Central Maine with a unique dining option.

The restaurant, located on Water Street in Augusta, offers a farm-to-table experience that is a rare find in Maine.  The restaurant's menu changes frequently and can include anything from roasted mushrooms, to pan-seared halibut, to flank steak.

In 2025, the team at the Oak Table started a side business making some of the best tacos in all of Maine.  They started offering tacos under the name Taco Rico.  When the taco business launched it was only available through delivery.  However, it looks like that is about to change.

Based on what we are seeing on their Facebook page, and signs up at their new location, it appears that Taco Rico will soon have a standalone eatery.

It appears that they will soon be going into the old Two Maine Guys spot on Mount Vernon Avenue in Augusta.

The post explains that they are temporarily closed as they renovate the space and move into the new spot.

The post says, in part:

WILL BE MOVING!! Our new location will be on Mt Vernon Ave! Can't wait to see you all! As we prepare to open our doors to you we want to ask, what do you LOVE about us? We also want to know, what can we improve on? We will be expanding the menu so tell us, what would you like to see at the new location?
