One of the best things about living in Maine is the number of fairs we have throughout the summer and fall.

While much of the attention goes to the larger fairs, like the Windsor Fair, Bangor State Fair, and Fryeburg Fair, the states numerous smaller fairs are just as fun and exciting.

The New Portland Lions Club Fair

The 2026 New Portland Lions Club Fair runs through Sunday, September 20th.

This year's fair is packed with excitement.  Friday brings the truck pulls, Saturday features a mud run with the Meadow Brook Mudders, and Sunday wraps things up with a demolition derby.

There are also three times the rides and ten times the fun this year, plus a huge bike giveaway with more than 30 bikes up for grabs. Best of all, the proceeds help local kids dealing with eyesight and hearing issues, so you can have a great time while supporting a great cause!

In addition to being a really fun fair, the New Portland Lions Club Fair is also one of the most affordable.  Gate admission is $10, but kids under 12 are free.  Additionally, ride bracelets for the Smokey's Greater Shows midway are only $25.
