Tonic at Bolos in Brunswick, Maine Announces “Pause” in Business
If you have ever owned a small business there is a good chance that you dedicated nearly all of your waking hours to making sure that business was a success. You likely poured all of your heart, soul, and money into the business.
Of course, there is only so long that someone can continue to push themselves. Additionally, it is even more stressful when a person or family is running more than one business.
It appears that is what happened to the people running Bolos in Brunswick.
Tonic at Bolos in Brunswick, Maine
Since 2019, Bolos was the spot in the Brunswick area people went to grab a bite, catch the game, listen to live music, or challenge your friends to a game of pool.
The local hangout was created with one goal in mind: give residents and visitors an affordable place to have a good time. Whether it's throwing darts, singing karaoke, line dancing, checking out live music, or joining a Canvases and Cocktails event, there was almost always something happening.
Of course, it's not just about the entertainment. Bolos also serves up craft beer, cocktails, and a full food menu, making it an easy spot to spend an afternoon or an entire evening with friends.
In the summer of 2024, the business introduced a new chapter, rebranding as Tonic at BOLOS while continuing to offer the same welcoming atmosphere and lineup of games, events, food, and drinks that have made it a popular destination in Brunswick.
Tonic at Bolos Closes... For Now
A post on the Facebook page for Bolos announced the business's closure, However, it sounds like it may only be temporary.
The post explains that they are taking a "pause" and says, in part:
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided it’s time to take a step back, spend more time with my family, and focus on what’s next. This wasn’t an easy decision, but it feels like the right one.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Bolos over the years. Your friendships, memories, and encouragement have meant more than you know.
This isn’t goodbye, just the end of one chapter. Stay tuned… and in the meantime, come say hello at Fat Boy this summer.
Hopefully, we'll soon see them reopen in some way.
