According to News Center Maine, iconic New England auto dealer Ira Rosenberg has passed away.

According to his son, Rosenberg passed away in his sleep early this (Thursday) morning.  He had fallen at his home in Florida on February 12th, seriously injuring his head.  Doctors performed surgery and he was rehabbing when, a few days ago, he took a turn for the worse and was taken to Mass General Hospital.

Originally from Malden, MA, Rosenberg was a U. S. Navy vet who began selling cars after leaving the navy.  After a few years of selling cars, he opened his own small used car dealership in Salem, MA.  Eventually, he went on to own seven dealerships in Massachusetts and two in Saco, Maine.
