Historic Notre Dame Cathedral Is On Fire

As we speak, the historic Notre Dame Cathedral in France is ablaze. During maintenance of the cathedral, many people noticed a plume of smoke rising from the roof. It was not long before the roof itself collapsed. The structure, which has been around since the 12th century, is one of the most traveled tourist destinations in the world, and the inspiration for the novel, the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Many politicians, actors, and dignitaries have taken to social media to bring attention and send their thoughts to the people of France.

According to CNBC there have been no confirmed deaths, according to Paris police and French officials have said there are no reported injuries at this time. At this time it is believed to be an accident.
