Giving Tuesday Today To Make A Difference
Giving Tuesday (December 1, 2020) is the first Tuesday after the Thanksgiving weekend to take a breath and remember the spirit of giving this holiday season.
You can give back with donations or actions. I would encourage you to give in some way that speaks to your heart…food pantry, the animal shelter, a few dollars (or more) to the Red Kettle, donating some toys for kids, checking in your neighbors, ANYTHING that contributes to our community.
Here are a few local projects that I learned about recently that would be perfect for your Giving Tuesday efforts. First of all, there is the Sweet Dreams Project for books and PJ’s for Skowhegan area kids. Second, you could meet the needs of the Salvation Army Angel Trees and Adopt-A-Family program for central Maine families and kids. The third is the Boys & Girls Club of Kennebec Valley $1M Match Challenge for a new facility. These are all very worthy causes.
