‘Game of Thrones’ Premiere Photos: Who Fights, and Who’s Finally Home?
Sure, we’ve had two trailers and dozens of photos to date, but Game of Thrones Season 7 is only just getting started. Literally! Sunday’s “Dragonstone” premiere has its own new photos, featuring a surprising battle and not one – but TWO homecomings.
HBO released eight new photos from Sunday’s hotly-anticipated premiere, some of which vary on images and footage we’ve already seen. There’s Cersei and her new map room, Dany inspecting the titular “Dragonstone,” and what looks to be Brienne sparring with Pod in Winterfell.
Perhaps most exciting of all, photos of Edd and Meera explicitly confirm that she and Bran have reached The Wall (hopefully not allowing The Night King entry in the process):
In case you forgot, here’s that Mad Men-esque synopsis for our Season 7 premiere, “Dragonstone”:
Episode #61: “Dragonstone”
Debut: SUNDAY, JULY 16 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)
Jon (Kit Harington) organizes the defense of the North. Cersei (Lena Headey) tries to even the odds. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) comes home.
Written for television by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Jeremy Podeswa.
Presumably, Cersei plans to even the odds with her sweet map room. Everyone else has a map room (granted, they have tables), but the new Queen needs in on that hot map action. Maps, man. Score one for Kings’ Landing.
We’ll see what other secrets the premiere holds this coming Sunday, so stay tuned for our full report.
