Below is the original story from earlier:

There is an armed standoff involving a man with a rifle at the former Naval base. Authorities indicate it is critical for people in the area of Neptune Drive to stay inside their homes

The standoff began early Monday after a report came in at around midnight for a domestic disturbance at 744 Neptune Drive.

The man's wife and child were successfully removed from their second-floor unit safely. The man is now believed to be the only person inside.

Brunswick Police Commander of Patrol Tom Garrepy said authorities have been unsuccessful in their attempts to make any contact with the man.

Authorities have tried using a drone, loudspeaker and even went so far as to set off an explosion on the first floor.

We will deliver more information as we get it.
