Though 'Pacific Rim' only made a little over a hundred million dollars domestically, the film had not only passionate fans, but a much larger audience internationally, which helped bring the $200 million project into a place where today director Guillermo del Toro announced that 'Pacific Rim 2' will hit theaters April 7, 2017.

Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy lead the trailer for 'The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby,' which is based on an intriguing premise: The film was shot from two different perspectives as two separate films ('Him' and 'Her') and has no been combined into one film (the 'Them' version).

Sylvester Stallone has had two great franchise characters, Rocky Balboa and John Rambo, and was able to resurrect both over the last decade successfully. 'Doctor Strange' has found its director in Scott Derrickson, and so now Marvel and company are moving on to casting and at the top of their lists for the titular Doctor are geek favorites Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. Or -- in nerd terms -- Bane versus Khan.

'Forrest Gump,' which turns 20 this year, is about to be rolled back into theaters to celebrate. Paramount has announced that the film will screen in IMAX auditoriums starting September 5, and have also moved up 'SpongeBob SquarePants 2' from February 13 to February 6, 2015.

Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' will be the next animated movie re-imagined as a live-action film. The bright spot is that it will be directed by Bill Condon, who's won an Oscar, on top of being the helmer of the final two 'Twilight' films.

The later part of this summer has already seen a lot of titles move and shift from one week to the next, but now The Wachowski's 'Jupiter Ascending' has bowed out of the summer box office battlefield altogether. The film, which stars Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, is now set to open February 6, 2015.
