Auburn, Maine May Welcome Olive Garden to Town in 2021

Maine saw a mass exodus of Ruby Tuesday locations in 2020 with the Augusta and Auburn locations closing. Currently, there are 3 locations operating in the state; Brewer, Waterville, and Presque Isle.

The Ruby Tuesday in Auburn has a prime location just off the roundabout near Buffalo Wild Wings, IHOP, Longhorn, Hobby Lobby, and The Auburn Mall.

The Future of the Location

While many rumors have been circling, Sun Journal reports that the Auburn director of planning and permitting has received two serious inquiries, one Maine-based company, and the other, possibly the beloved Italian chain restaurant, Olive Garden. Sun Journal reached out to Olive Garden for comment and while they didn't confirm the rumor, they did not make any effort to deny it either. There are currently 3 Olive Garden locations in Maine, Bangor, Augusta, and South Portland.

Other Options

While Olive Garden is certainly a great option, many are hoping for something new for the state of Maine. Currently, Maine does not have a Cheesecake Factory, Hooters, or Dave & Buster's. But many are hoping for someone to move in that's not a chain.
