For four decades, the Saco water park park has been a destination for New England families looking for some summer fun.

According to a post on the heritage Maine water park's Facebook page, they've decided to close for the season earlier than originally planned.  Normally, the park would shut down on Labor Day, but this year they closed on Saturday, August 29th.

In the post, the management sites "inconsistent state regulations" as the reason for their early closure.

The post says, in part:

"Due to strict and inconsistent state regulations, it is no longer possible for us to remain open while remaining in compliance with the changes in guidelines. While we firmly disagree that some of these regulations should apply to Aquaboggan, staff and guest safety has always been the number one priority and we will always place public health above profit. We plan to confront the inconsistency of the guidelines by working to create policy change rather than operate against them, but unfortunately this takes time."

The post goes on to thank both their guests and staff for a great 2020 season.

Additionally, it says they plan to honor unused passes purchased for this year in 2021. They also plan to discount renewals for season passholders.. Please reach out to info@aquabogganwaterpark.com for more details
