For the second year in a row The Clear Paths and Connected Community program have gathered to make it easier for seniors and the disabled right here in Central Maine. The group, made up entirely of volunteers get together and clear the walkways, paths to mailboxes and oil tanks, and other areas residents need shoveled for people who would not be able to do it themselves, as well as deliver large buckets of sand to spread along the walkways for traction.

Last year, most of the volunteers came from local police departments, but this year inmates from the work program at the county jail have come together to aid them, getting a day off their sentence for every day they work. According to Centralmaine.com residents gave rave reviews of both the quality and speed of their work.
