Tomorrow (Jan. 24 ) looks like it is shaping up to be a messy one, as the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the area from 1AM to 7PM on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

LOW PRESSURE CURRENTLY OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST WILL TRACK
NORTHEAST TOWARD NEW ENGLAND TODAY INTO TUESDAY. A VARIETY OF
DIFFERENT PRECIPITATION TYPES ARE POSSIBLE AS THE STORM NEARS THE
AREA. COLD AIR WILL BE IN PLACE IN THE LOWER LEVELS...BUT WARM AIR
SURGING NORTHWARD AHEAD OF THE STORM WILL BE ENOUGH TO CHANGE
PRECIPITATION FROM SNOW TO SLEET...OR EVEN FREEZING RAIN. IN
ADDITION...A COASTAL FRONT IS LIKELY TO FORM WHICH COULD BRING
ENOUGH LOW LEVEL WARM AIR TO CHANGE PRECIPITATION TO RAIN NEAR THE
COAST. THE TIMING OF THE CHANGE OVER FROM SNOW TO MIXED
PRECIPITATION REMAINS LOW CONFIDENCE. PLAIN RAIN LOOKS TO STAY
CONFINED TO SOUTHEAST NEW HAMPSHIRE AND NEAR THE COAST IN WESTERN
MAINE.

According to the weather service, overnight snow will change to sleet and freezing rain and continue all day on Tuesday. The mix of snow and sleet will gradually change to a mix of freezing rain and sleet between 3 and 4 PM before changing to freezing rain after 4PM. The forecast calls for 0.1 of an inch of ice and possibly 2-4 inches of new snow.

The weather service says that the storm will lead to hazardous travel conditions with limited visibility and drivers should use caution on the roads.
