If you have used the website titled Maine’s JobLink, your personal information may have been hacked.

The Kansas-based contractor America’s JobLink, which runs the Maine Joblink site, confirmed Tuesday, that a hacker exploited its system and accessed private information, including names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth of job seekers.

The Maine Department of Labor issued a warning Wednesday that people with JobLink accounts in Maine should immediately put a freeze on their credit report; especially those who entered their Social Security number.

If you think you have been affected, The Maine Department of Labor advised following online directions from the Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation about how to request a credit freeze from the three major reporting agencies, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
