Two Waterville men are accused of destroying a car over stolen pot plans. According to centralmaine.com they are facing up to 30 years in jail.

Gov LePage held a rare press conference yesterday to clarify comments he made a day earlier on a radio show. The governor blamed reporters for making too much of his slip of the tongue, telling them "I have no respect for you at all" and that they they're out to "destroy people." LePage also called President Barack Obama a "dictator" for his use of executive orders.

Augusta is moving forward with building a new treatment facility for mentally ill patients who have committed crimes and no longer require hospital care as part of efforts to recoup federal certification for an adjacent psychiatric facility. The Kennebec Journal reports the Planning Board on Tuesday approved plans to build the 21-bed rehabilitation facility next to the Riverview Psychiatric Center.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's daughter is headed to Maine. Chelsea Clinton is scheduled to appear at the University of Maine, where she'll urge Mainer to support her mom's bid to become the first woman to be elected president.

Residents of Maine and four other states may be barred from boarding a commercial flight using a driver's license beginning in 2018 because of their states' refusal to comply with national proof-of-identity requirements. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security confirmed Wednesday it notified Oklahoma, Kentucky, Maine, Pennsylvania and South Carolina that requests for extensions to comply with the federal Real ID Act had been denied. Multiple publications are reporting separately that women have come forth to say that they were inappropriately touched by Donald Trump. The New York Times interviewed a woman who says she was groped aboard a plane. Another says Trump kissed her without permission at Trump Tower. The Palm Beach Post newspaper in Florida reports that a woman said Trump groped her at his Mar-a-Lago estate. And a People magazine writer says Trump kissed her against her will at the same estate. The campaign denies the allegations.

American officials say U.S.-launched Tomahawk cruise missiles have destroyed three coastal radar sites in Houthi-controlled territory on Yemen's Red Sea Coast. The retaliatory action follows two incidents this week in which missiles were fired at U.S. Navy ships. The strikes marked the first shots fired by the U.S. against the Houthis in Yemen's long-running civil war. The Pentagon describes the launches as limited and self-defense to protect U.S. personnel, ships and freedom of navigation.

Another week and another monster hurricane in the Atlantic. Forecasters say Hurricane Nicole has mushroomed into a Category 4 storm with 130 miles winds. It's tracking in direction of Bermuda, which is already being lashed with heavy wind and rain. It's expected to pass over or near the island territory on Thursday.

Two police officers have been shot in Boston and police say a suspect has been located. The extent of the officers' injuries is not known. Police are asking on Twitter that the community pray for the wounded officers. The shooting happened in East Boston late Wednesday night. Details are limited. Police said the scene is "secure."

A jury's inability to agree to a verdict in the murder trial of two former Albuquerque police officers has sparked a protest. Police video captured the fatal shooting of a mentally-ill homeless man. Activists protested Wednesday outside the Albuquerque courthouse where the case was tried. Some protesters wore masks and others yelled profanities. Officers in riot gear blocked off large sections of downtown.
