Donald Trump wins as president. First Congressional district Chellie Pingree and Second goes to Bruce Poliquin. As for the questions: Mainers appear to have supported the vote to increase the minimum wage, use ranked choice voting and to support the transportation bond. It is close but the no votes were ahead on the back ground checks and it  just a tie legislating marijuana and the surcharge on public education.

The students at Erskine honored veterans yesterday and according to centramaine.com learned about Tom Dostie.  He was a 2002 Erskine graduate and died December 2004 when a bomb went off inside a base dining facility in Iraq.

There is an EU mandate that member countries get 20% of their overall energy supply from renewable by 2020. That means a lot of coal plans are being converted to wood pellets and chips.

President-elect Donald Trump says now it's time for America to "bind the wounds of division." Trump spoke to a crowd of supporters early Wednesday at his headquarters in New York City. Trump says he received a phone call from Hillary Clinton, congratulating him on his victory. Trump says he's pledging to be a president "for all Americans."

There's been no public comment from Democrat Hillary Clinton. Her campaign manager John Podesta told a crowd in New York early Wednesday that "we're not going to have anything else to say tonight." That comment came before Donald Trump said Clinton phoned him to congratulate him. Trump says we owe Clinton "a major debt of gratitude" for her service."

Canada and the prospect of Americans moving north appears to have drawn so much online interest that it has knocked out the country's immigration website. Searches for "move to Canada" and "immigrate to Canada" spiked last night as election returns favored Republican nominee Donald Trump. "Canada" was a leading U.S. trend on Twitter, with more than 1 million tweets.
