An Augusta man and a Pittston woman were arrested in connection to the June 21st robbery at the Stone Street Big Apple in Augusta. According to WGME they are facing robbery charges.

The Donald Trump rally in Portland tomorrow is scheduled for 2p afternoon and according to the Sun Journal, many of the state’s top republicans will not be attending.

The Maine Lobster Festival is getting started in Rockland on Wednesday. The event will last until Sunday and will be based around Maine's signature summertime seafood treat.

The Taste of Waterville is set for all day today in downtown Waterville.

On the same day President Barack Obama said Donald Trump was "unfit" and urged Republicans not to back the GOP nominee, a top Republican donor and fundraiser is defecting. Hewlett-Packard executive Meg Whitman says Trump is "reckless and uninformed" and that she will support Hillary Clinton. Trump, meanwhile, has told The Washington Post that he's withholding support for the re-election of Speaker Paul Ryan.

A Republican primary in Kansas has resulted in tea party incumbent Rep. Tim Huelskamp being unseated. Huelskamp blames his loss on $3 million of super PAC money coming to support his opponent, obstetrician Roger Marshall. Huelskamp says billionaires spread "half-truths and smears." He is one of only a handful of House members to be ousted in this year's primary season.

For the second time in four months, voters in Ferguson, Missouri, have approved a tax to finance reforms needed in the aftermath of racial unrest over the fatal police shooting of a black, unarmed teen. Residents of the St. Louis suburb have approved a 2 percent hike in the business license utility tax. The revenue will be used to hire police officers, avoid firefighter layoffs and keep a firehouse open.

Tropical Storm Earl is gaining strength and forecasters say it will likely strengthen into a hurricane before it hits parts of Belize, Honduras and Mexico. On Sunday, while it was still a tropical wave, it was blamed for a bus accident that claimed the lives of six people in the Dominican Republic.

Flights have been disrupted at two airports in Indonesia because of eruptions at three volcanoes. Skies have been darkened in parts of the archipelago. The eruptions happened over the past couple of days in near Bali, on Sumatra Island in the Moluccas chain. No injuries are reported.
