A winning ticket Powerball for $487 million was sold in Raymond, New Hampshire. According to WCSH, The winning numbers were 11-17-21-23-32 and Powerball 5.

The city of Gardiner has been applying for money from Maine’s Community Development Block Grant program for businesses.  According to centralmaine.com, in the last two years they have been granted almost two million dollars.

Gov. Paul LePage's likes to fire off missives in the form of handwritten notes, but those will remain personal unless they're shared by recipients. The governor's office contends the notes are personal and don't have to be retained under state law.

Maine wildlife officials are asking residents to be aware of phony websites that lure customers into phishing scams with false promises of hunting licenses. The state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife says residents should make sure they only attempt to buy sporting licenses and registrations from the Maine.gov website.

Police say a Maine woman was bitten by a rabid fox while she was sitting on her porch. Monmouth police Chief Kevin Mulherin says the woman was attacked on Tuesday night. She was treated at the hospital and released.

Crews continue to battle a massive wildfire near California's Big Sur. The blaze covers an area bigger than San Francisco, and is threatening thousands of homes. The wildfire has destroyed 57 homes and 11 outbuildings and is threatening 2,000 more structures. It was 18 percent contained as of Sunday morning.

Federal investigators say a hot air balloon hit high-tension power lines before crashing into a pasture in Central Texas, killing all 16 on board. The NTSB will look at several factors including reports of foggy weather at the time of Saturday's crash. But it's concentrating first on gathering evidence such as witness statements.

The governor of Maryland has declared a state of emergency for Ellicott City. The historic, low-lying town was ravaged by floodwaters Saturday night, killing two people and causing devastating damage to homes and businesses. The town, about 14 miles west of Baltimore, received half a foot of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

An Ohio man accused of plotting to attack the U.S. Capitol in support of the Islamic State group is due in court for a change-of-plea hearing. Christopher Lee Cornell has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from his January 2015 arrest. A change-of-plea hearing notice often signal plans to plead guilty.

The new Miss Teen USA will get to keep her crown despite an outcry over tweets she once wrote using racist language. Pageant officials issued a statement chastising Karlie Hay's words but also "supporting her continued growth." After Hay was crowned Saturday in Las Vegas, social media users found tweets linked to her containing the 'N-word.'
