Dana's Dogs is a new hotdog cart in Farmingdale is owned by a 15 year old. According to WABI, the Gardiner teen plans to pay the cart off this summer and start saving to buy an apartment building.

The Hallowell City Council signed an agreement with a general contractor for a new fire station. According to centralmaine.com its budget is $1M, the amount pledged by an anonymous donor to build it at Stevens Commons.

University of Maine at Farmington had received a $500,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. According to centralmaine.com it will be used for the "creation of a digital commons comprising programming and discussion around 24 works of art, literature, film, video games or other forms of creation identified by Mainers as particularly meaningful at this moment in history."

Scientists with the University of Maine say they have developed a new tool to allow blueberry growers to get a handle on how many bees they can expect to see around their fields. The tool is called "BeeMapper." The White House is confirming that President Donald Trump had a follow-up conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Group of 20 summit earlier this month in Germany. The leader of the Philippines' largest Muslim rebel group says Islamic State-linked militants wanted his group to broker their possible withdrawal from Marawi city during the major military offensive against them but he refused to intervene. The Moro Islamic Liberation Front leader told AP intervening would have been difficult because the president won't negotiate. The militants in Marawi have indicated they are ready to fight to the death.
